Clear out the old to let in the new
Tomorrow is Monday. As such, my mind goes to prepping for the week ahead.
One thought I come back to again and again is: what needs to be done to clear out the old in order to let in the new?
I'm reminded of a story I once heard about a Zen Master. He had a student who came to him, wanting to learn about enlightenment.
In short, he told the student, "You are like this tea cup, so full that nothing more can be added. Come back to me when the cup is empty. Come back to me with an empty mind.”
We have a pretty finite amount of time and energy that we can give to people, tasks and situations in our life.
If you're investing in things that are not in alignment with who you want to be, then you're using energy that instead, could be given to something that WILL move you toward creating the life, relationships and career that you want.
Do you have a situation that is draining you? Which doesn't feel right? Is there something you KNOW you need to take care of, but haven't done so yet?
If so, then what are you waiting for?
Trust yourself to know what isn't working for you, and free up the energy you're currently putting into it.
Give yourself this gift. The relief you'll feel after you've handled it will deeply replenish you. And guess what? You may even realize that the stress of the situation was draining you even more than you realized, in more ways than one.
What do you intentionally want to give your time to? I'm sure you won't have any problem with figuring that out!
