Fear is the only thing that gets smaller as you run toward it

Fear is the only thing that gets smaller as you run toward it.

I love this idea! In my experience, I've found it to be absolutely true.

It's said that the greatest fear we have is of the unknown. The anxiety we experience when we don't know what to expect, is often the thing that keeps us from taking a chance on what we want.

Think back to a time when you had your first day at a new job. When you were heading out to meet a blind date. When you had to give a presentation in front of a large group.

What about that situation made you nervous? Chances are it was because you didn't know how it would go, how you would be received and how you would handle things. Is that right?

But also remember how it was that you felt afterward. Were you relieved that it was over? Exhilarated because you faced a fear? Happy to know that you tried it, hated it and wouldn’t do it again?

Regardless, you lived to see another day. And chances are, you either laughed or learned from the experience.

Where is fear holding you back right now? What is one step you can take this week to move toward what scares you? Let me know!
